Kenneth Breeze Coon

Kenneth Breeze Coon was born September 23, 1930 and passed away on July 8, 2023 at the age of 92. He was our loving and caring father, husband, and grandfather. He was born in Magna, Utah and he was one of eight children born to Arthur and Ruth Breeze Coon. He attended Cyprus High School and graduated with the class of 1948. He was married to Wanda Rushton Coon for 63 wonderful years before her passing in 2012. They were married on May 17, 1949 and sealed in the Jordan River Temple in April 2003. They purchased their first home on Rulon Street in 1981 and resided there for their married life.

Ken loved to square dance in his earlier years dancing with his wife and traveling to attend square dance events. He was adored by
his grandchildren and children. He was a member of the LDS Church and held different positions. He was employed at Kennecott Copper as a mechanic for over 30 years. He retired from there and continued working as a mechanic at Gus Paulos Chevrolet in West Valley. Ken loved to golf and was still golfing weekly up until a few years ago with his closet friends. He was an avid fisherman and loved the fresh outdoors. Ken loved the Utah Jazz and basketball and did not miss a basketball game.

Ken is survived by his son, Dee Coon; daughter, Jody Clark; 6 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Rushton Coon; 8 siblings; and daughter, Pam Coon.

The family wishes to thank the management staff of Summit Senior Living, Kalae, Scott, and Elizabeth and the entire staff for their loving care and compassion.

His viewing will be held on Friday, July 14 from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at Peel Funeral Home located at 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, Utah. A graveside service will follow at 11am at the Valley View Memorial Park, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City.
