LaPreal Justesen Hansen
1919 - 2010
On October 26, our beloved mother, grandmother and great grandmother, LaPreal Cahoon Justesen Hansen passed quietly away, surrounded by loved ones. LaPreal was born February 25, 1919 to Daniel Vernon Cahoon and Sarah Myrle Western in Deseret, Utah. She married A. Lee Justesen in Baker, Nevada March 5, 1938 and together they had 5 children. They were eternally sealed in the Manti LDS Temple. Lee Justesen passed away on December 2, 1975. She married Lee Hansen August 1, 1978; he died June 13, 1985.
LaPreal grew up in Deseret, graduating from Hinckley High School. She spent most of her adult life in Magna, Utah where she owned LaPreal's Beauty Salon. She loved to dance, bowl, play the organ and play games with family and friends, especially her dear friend, Helen Mills Collings.
She is survived by four children, Doris Lunt (Ellery) Wybrow, Sharon Gager Johnson, Carl D (Karen) Justesen, and Kevin L (Lynn) Justesen; daughter-in-law, Valerie Bienz; 17 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; and special friend, Helen all of whom will really miss her famous "Hot Water" cake.
She was preceded in death by her parents; both husbands; her brothers, Blaine and Glen Cahoon; sister-in-law, Mae Cahoon; her son, Arthur Justesen; and son-in-law, Gordon Lunt.
Funeral services will be held 12 noon Saturday, October 30, 2010 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., Magna, where friends and family may call Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 11-11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
