Leonora Rupp, a longtime resident of Magna, Utah, passed away peacefully on December 22, 2023.  Leonora was at home and surrounded by loved ones. She was 91. Leonora was welcomed home by her mother (Sophronia), husband (Glen), daughter (Becky), and other family.

Leonora is a loving daughter, wife, mother, aunt, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother.  Her love was unconditional.

Leonora was born March 19, 1932, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Sophronia (Peart) Howard and Charles Howard. On July 28, 1950, Leonora married (Joseph) Glen Rupp, her high school sweetheart. Their marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake City temple on April 15, 1954. The couple celebrated their 70th anniversary in 2020.  Leonora was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  She served a church service mission; and is a woman of great faith and inner strength grounded in gospel principles, and the knowledge that families are forever.

Leonora’s legacy is woven into the countless threads of family bonds she nurtured and cherished.  As a dedicated wife, mother, and grandmother, she selflessly embraced the role of the heart and soul of her household.  Leonora leaves behind a tapestry of life, woven through the laughter, tears, celebrations, and quiet moments that defined the rhythm of family life.

Leonora was a woman of resilience, she faced life’s challenges with grace, demonstrating an unwavering strength that inspired those around her. Her days were marked by acts of kindness, warmth, and an ever-present nurturing spirit.  She found joy in simple pleasures.

While her physical presence may be absent, Leonora lives on in the hearts of her family and friends.  Her legacy is not only the love she shared but also the values she instilled.  May we honor her memory by embracing the enduring lessons of faith, compassion, and selflessness.

Leonora is survived by; Children James Laurie (VaLair), Kerry Lee (Lori), Julie Felice (Charles), Kristy Sue Buckway (Randy); Jeffrey Lynn (Linda), Dennis Scott (Katherine); 21 grandchildren, and 34 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild. She was preceded in death by her husband Glen, daughter Becky Knechtel (Kurt) and her parents.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the American Heart Association, reflecting Leonora’s spirit of generosity and compassion.  A viewing from 10:00am to 11:30am followed by a memorial service at 11:30am, will be held on December 28th at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna, Utah 84044.  Please join us in celebrating a life well-lived and the profound impact of a mother’s love that will forever resonate in our hearts.

A graveside dedication and interment will be held at the Tooele City Cemetery on Thursday, December 28th at 1:30pm
