LeRoy D. Lovato

Our loving LeRoy Lovato peacefully passed away surrounded by loved ones on March 23 rd after a hard long fight of cancer complications. LeRoy was born Feb 5, 1941 in Chamisal, NM, to Rumalda M. Sandoval and David Lovato. All who knew LeRoy loved him for his kind heart; he was always serving & giving to everyone. LeRoy proudly served in the U.S. Army from 1963-1965 just after he married his sweetheart Denna LaNae Schofield of Evanston, Wyo. LeRoy retired from Kennecott Copper as a shovel operator. LeRoy was very skilled and talented in masonry, electricity, and woodworking. He loved the Savior, his time as a temple worker, his family, and life in general. Preceded in death by parents, step mother Mary Lovato, step father Adam Gutierrez, brothers Manuel, Flavio and Johnny Lovato. Survived by wife Denna of 51 years, daughter Leesa (Dan) Call, sons David (Laura), Justin (Rochelle), and Mark (Melissa) Lovato, sisters Beverly (Sonny) Madrid, Hedy Montoya, Geraldine Cintas, Mary Inez Lovato, brothers Benito (Linda), Raymond (Gloria), and Edward (Nellie) Lovato. Sisters-in-law Norma Coleman, Gaylynn (Marion) Dunning, Nancy (David) Oroak, Pat Schofield. He will be missed by his 22 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, and many nieces & nephews who love him.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, March 28, 2013 at Colony Ward, 4251 S. 4800 W., where friends and family may call both Wednesday 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
