Leslie Ann Gage
1955 - 2017
Leslie Ann Gage, wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend to many, lost her fight with cancer. She died September 8, 2017 at the age of 62. She was born May 27, 1955 to Claude and Ardeth Sheppick of Magna, Utah. She married James LaVar Bankhead on June 9, 1973 and is mother to Joseph LaVar Bankhead, Jessica Timmerman, Abraham James Bankhead. She married Camilo Cordeiro on Oct 31, 1985 and is mother to Patrick Camilo Cordeiro. She married Drue Allen Gage on Oct 8, 1988.
She is preceded in death by her father, Claude Jr Sheppick; and her brother, Kent Brian Sheppick.
She is survived by her husband, Drue; mother, Ardeth Sheppick; her sister, Terry Bagley (Craig); and her brother, Gary Kay Sheppick (Dana); her children, Joseph LaVar Bankhead, Jessica Timmerman (Brigham), Abraham Bankhead, Patrick Camilo Cordeiro; her stepchildren, Marsha Petersen (Rick) and Jamie Fenn (Jeremy); her grandchildren, Azure Legend, Lillian Timmerman, and Sydney Marie Cordeiro; and step grandchildren, Leah Fenn, Jeremy Fenn, Ronald Fenn, Signi Petersen, and Zophie Petersen.
She was a member of the LDS Church and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She worked in the Granite School District for many years, some as a member of the school lunch program and was a certified substitute teacher. She loved the beauty of nature, dogs and cats which she has had many, music and most of all her family. She always looked for the good in people and in life. There was a saying that she believed in, "Anything lovely or of good report, we should seek after these things." She had the capacity of making friends wherever she was. Her loving nature and sweet smile will be missed by all who loved this sweet wonderful woman.
Friends and family can gather to say farewell at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., both Friday, September 15, 2017 6 – 8 p.m. and Saturday, September 16 th 9 – 10 a.m. Graveside services will be held Saturday 10:30 a.m. at the Taylorsville Cemetery, 4575 Redwood Road.
