Marian Alice Peterson Bolton

1935-2024

Marian passed away peacefully on November 24, 2024, in West Valley. She was born August 13, 1935, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Mono Peterson and Margaret Monson Peterson. She married her loving husband Jerry Bolton on November 7, 1952, which was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They were married for 56 beautiful years. 

Marian graduated from Cypress High.  Then focused on being Jerry's wife and having her beautiful children. 

She started working in the medical field, where she worked for 50 years. She worked in several practices, but when she landed at Foothill Clinic it was home. She worked at Foothill as a medical assistant and then in her later years, she worked in insurance claims.

She loved family time, camping, and fishing the amazing lakes of Utah and Montana. One of the highlights of every summer was the family descending on Rainbow Point campground and fishing the Hebgen. She and Jerry loved to dance and cut a pretty amazing rug.

Survived by son, Sherman (Jacque); daughter, Stephanie; granddaughters, Karlie (Tyson Taylor), and Lessa Bolton; five great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; brothers Micheal (Dorothy) Peterson, Jerry (Virginia) Peterson, and Robert Peterson, brother-in-law, Brent (Wendy) Bolton, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her boys Darrell and Micheal, parents; parents-in-law, Frank Bolton and Leona; husband, Jerry; and grandson, Matthew.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 3, 2024, from 11 to 12 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. Magna Main Street. A viewing will be held the same day from 10 to 11 a.m. The interment will be at Elysian Gardens.
