Mark Allen Olson, 50, was born in Colorado Springs, CO to Lawrence John Olson and Bonny Marie Allen on September 25, 1971. He passed away suddenly and unexpectedly in Salt Lake City, Utah on Wednesday April 13, 2022 with his family around him. He was proceeded in death by his mother. He is survived by his beloved wife, Peggy Ann Olson, his son, Colton Mark Olson (Jessica) and two grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, Larry (Elaine), stepfather Douglas Oveson, his siblings, and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mark’s life, like many, was full of upheaval. The last five years were filled with much joy and happiness as he found Peggy and they married on September 11, 2020. In the short time they were together, they made so many happy memories that she will never forget for she lost the love her life. His passion was always in trucks and he loved starting Mountain Goat Transport, his new venture, as an entrepreneur in driving hot shot and flatbed loads across Utah.

Mark married Traci Smith in 1990 (later divorced) a year later he became a dad which was one of the greatest joys in his life.  He worked as a mechanic and later became one of the top cement truck drivers within his company.

Mark lived life to the fullest. His love of mountain goats inspired his life’s motto to live “life on the edge.” He could often be found fishing and hunting in the mountains with his family or behind the barbeque grill cooking the family steaks and hamburgers on most weekends. He instilled in his son, a love of all things with an engine and wheels, old and new. He loved fast cars and lifted trucks. He was often the family comedian and cared deeply for those around him; making sure they felt loved and had what they needed. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Mark will be missed in countless ways and has left our hearts hollow.

To celebrate his life, funeral services will be held Tuesday April 19, 2022, 11:00 AM, with viewing prior 10:00-10:45 AM. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Pleasant Green building at 8739 West 3000 South, Magna, Utah. There will be a viewing Monday, April 18, 2022 6:00-8:00 PM, at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna.
