Marlin Thomsen

September 28, 1931 — September 9, 2014

Beloved husband, Marlin Earl (Sonny) Thomsen passed away September 9, 2014 surrounded by his loving family. Sonny was  born in Yankton, South Dakota, September 28, 1931  to Hans Christian and Elsa Wendland Thomsen. He grew up in Salt Lake City.  He married Barbara Larsen, his loving wife,  September 18, 1952 in Magna, Utah, later solomnized in the the Salt Lake Temple.  They are the parents of four children;  Max (Echo), Stephanie (Tim), Tammy, and Stacey (Ted) and 17 grandchildren and  24 great-grandchildren.  Sonny retired from Kennecott Copper and Cyprus High School. He was a faithful member of the LDS church serving in many callings throughout his life. He loved being with his family and enjoyed watching football, original author of the "Thomsen Tickle" and the "Magna Handshake", and master joke teller.  Funeral services will be held  Saturday, September 13, 2014 at 12 noon, at the LDS church at 8181 W. 3320 S, Magna, Ut. Viewings will be held before the services Friday 6-8pm at Peel Funeral home, 8525 W 2700 S, Magna and one hour prior to the funeral at the church.
