Marriann Holayter

Marriann was granted her angels wings on July 7, 2010 after a courageous battle with cancer. Her last days were spent in the presence of very loved friends and family members that were blessed in knowing her. She was born May 20, 1957 in San Jose, California to William J. and Beatrice L. Pettit Holayter. She enjoyed her childhood in California and moved to Utah in her teens. In 1984 she started her journey with the love of her life Steve Mitchell. Marriann attended schools in California and finished her physics education at the U of U. She had a heart of gold and happily helped to raise her nephew David C.W. Bunker along with Steve. Together they are thankful for those memories and proud of the successful adult he has become. Marriann was a lady of many talents and hobbies which included family, friends, gardening, crocheting, fishing, rock collecting, tutoring kids with  their school work, caregiver to many and her life long pond project.

Marriann is survived by her sweetheart, Steve; parents; sister, Cherry L. Bunker; brother, Daniel W. Holayter; as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and very special friends. She will not be leaving our life, but watching out over us as the angel we always knew she was. Special thanks to many doctors, nurses, Huntsman Cancer Center, IMC hospice and many family and friends.

Funeral services will be 11 am Saturday, July 17, 2010 at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna. Friends may both Friday, July 16, 2010 6-8 pm and 10-10:45 am Saturday prior to services.
