Martin Ernest Prigmore

1919 - 1012

Martin passed away on August 17, 2012 at his home in Magna after a valiant effort for many years dealing with the affects of COPD.  In addition to the care and support of family, he was attended by members of the Heartwood Hospice nursing staff, especially Glenna who made his last days as comfortable as possible. Martin was born in Meeker, Colorado to Ernest Martin and Afrey Belle Carnahan Prigmore, and with his parents moved to Bingham Canyon while still young. Martin grew up there and attended Bingham High. It was also here that he met his sweet heart, Olive George.  They were married in 1939 and had 68 wonderful years together.  Martin brought his family to Magna in 1957 where he lived out his life.   Martin was a hard working man his entire life, working with his father and brothers in the Prigmore Brothers Coal Co. in Bingham, the Lark Lead mine, Kennecott Copper and many other jobs to provide for his family. Martin loved the outdoors and took every opportunity to enjoy fishing, hunting and camping activities with family and friends.  His attention for many years was directed toward his horses and spent many hours riding in the Utah mountains and spent several years as Trail Boss of the Tooele Riding Club. Martin is survived by his sons, James and Bill (LeAna); grandchildren, Sheila (Steve), Susan (Tyler), and Marianne (Tim), along with 13 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, Olive in 2007 and now they are together again.

Thanks Dad for the great example you have been to your family for all these years.  We love you!
