Marvin R. Bowden

Marvin Rawson Bowden passed away May 10, 2016 in Ferron, UT. He was born August 10, 1931 in Salt Lake City to George Clarence and Sara Ann Rawson Bowden. He married Elva LaVina Robinson July 23, 1951; their marriage was later sealed in the LDS Logan Temple September 13, 1962.
Marvin worked 20 years at the Kennecott Smelter and then 30 years building as a general contractor. He served in many church callings including councilor in the bishopric, Bishop, and councilor in the Stake Presidency, missions with his wife, Elva to Kenya Africa, the Bishop’s Store House, Ordinance work in the Manti Temple for 5 years, and many other church callings. He loved hunting and fishing, and serving his family was his number one priority. He is survived by his wife; children, Guy and Karen Bowden, Gil and Heidi Bowden, Sherrie Bowden, Gary and Jennifer Bowden, and Grant and Rosemary Bowden; brother, Lawry Bowden; 20 grandchildren and 60 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by parents; and siblings, Clare, Betty Davidson, Marjean Clarke, Vay Beagley, Dick, and Marsha.
Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Saturday, May 21, 2016 at the Lake Ridge 9 th , 7825 W. Sharon Dr. (3340 S.), where a viewing will be held Saturday 10-11:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
