Mary Louise Novak Colosimo
The heart of our family, Mary Lou Colosimo, age 83, returned to the arms of our Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 29, 2013. She was a beloved wife, mother, 'mambo', grandmother, G'ma, Nana, Grand Nana, sister and friend. Mary Lou was born in Midvale, Utah, on July 5, 1930. She was a lifelong member of the Magna community and was a cherished friend to all who were privileged to know her. She had a passion for music, singing, and writing poetry. Mary Lou was the organist and music director for Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church for many years. Her sincere belief in the power of prayer was evident in her devotion to the Blessed Mother, the Rosary and St. Padre Pio. Mary Lou worked as a secretary and an administrative assistant for the Granite School District. She kept in touch with many of the students she influenced during her years at Webster Elementary, Brockbank Junior High, and Granite High School. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 64 years, Ernest, her children, Monica (Denis) Lynch, Cynthia (Tony) Divino, Ralph (Paula) Colosimo, Danny Colosimo, Peggy (Scott) Schwarz, and Charlie (Lauri) Colosimo. Her grandchildren were the joy of her life: Natalie Divino, Nicole Divino, Noelle (Gharzai) Achekzai, Sydney (Chris) Kellenberger, Shannon (Eric) Maki, Jayme Colosimo, Mario Colosimo, Anthony Colosimo, Alex Schwarz and Molly Schwarz. She is also survived by two great grandchildren, Madeline Kellenberger and Jamison Kellenberger. Our family is grateful for all the care and love given to "Mama Lou" by Shara Gager. There are no words to express how grateful we are for the love and devotion shown to our mom by our brother, Danny.
