Mary Kay, 43, was born on July 31st, 1981 in St.George City, Utah. She was born to her parents, Mollie Jane Kirk and Earl Eugene Kirk and was their second-born child, becoming the little sister to her older brother, Daniel Christian Kirk.
Mary Kay was known as an independent, resilient woman, who stands strong through hardships in her life with a smile. Growing up, she had a fiery personality, was very hardheaded, and was never willing to budge once she set her mind on things. These are traits she carried throughout her life, remaining dedicated, and determined until her passing. However stubborn she was, she was generous, thoughtful, and loving. She went out of her way for people who needed help, offered a listening ear to anyone who needed it, and always had those she loved’s backs. Her reach is far and wide, with many, many people who’ve been touched by her care.
She loved roller skating, had done so since she was 2 years old, and often won skating passes at the local skating rink. She was a member of the derby team ‘Sisters of no Mercy,’ winning a team MVP award in the 2009 season. Even with injuries sustained from the sport, she never quit skating and considered her skates one of her most prized possessions. On a day she was free and the weather was nice, she could be found skating in parking lots, parks, and local rinks, blasting her favorite songs.
Mary loved motorcycles, and always had a bit of an interest in them, especially in the last few years of her life. Once she was able to get her hands on her own bike, she’d be off without telling anybody, riding in the city, mountains, or anywhere you could think of. She loved to blast her music and ride daringly fast, often taking long rides with friends and family who also rode.
Mary also loved elephants. She had lots of elephant figures, shirts, trinkets, and memorabilia alike, even sporting a tattoo of a baby elephant on her left bicep.
She’s survived by her mother, Mollie Kirk; her brother, Daniel Kirk; her three children, Taya Riddle, Jenne Riddle, and Addalyn McKibben; as well as her partner, Mike Baker.
She’s preceded in death by her father, Earl Kirk; her grandmother, Jennie Mortenson; and her son, Teagen-Drake Riddle.
A viewing for Mary will be held on Sunday, November 24th from 3-5, at Peel Funeral Home, located at 8525 W Magna Main Street, Magna, Utah 84044. All friends, family, and those who knew her are welcome to stop by and offer condolences as well as share their favorite memories.
