Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather, Max Gallegos, passed away surrounded by family December 31, 2019. Max was born on December 9, 1941 to Santiago Gallegos and Trinidad Archuleta in Abiquiu, NM. Max was raised in New Mexico where he later moved to Salt Lake City and met the love of his life Amelia. Max and Amelia moved to Magna and resided there until his passing.
In his adulthood, Max's occupation and passion was being a youth counselor for at risk youth where he mentored and touched so many lives. Max graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology and psychology from the University of Utah and continued to retire as a youth counselor.
Max took great pride and passion in spending time with his kids and grandkids. He lived his life in his own way and to the fullest. He loved hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling amongst many other things. There was never a dull moment.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Amelia Garcia Gallegos; Children, Maxine (Jose), Max Jr. (Lisa), Lisa (Juan), Victoria, Johnny, Michelle (Harry), Isaac, Bernadette, and Sonny (Jen); 34 grandchildren, 47 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.
