Max Jared “Jerry” Beck

1935 ~ 2018

Max Jared Beck, 83, passed away with his family surrounding him in South Jordan on Wednesday, December 26, 2018. Max was born in Magna, UT on February 18, 1935 to William B. Beck and Melba Brown Beck. He married Fern Louise Miller on January 8, 1955; they were by each other’s side for over 63 years.

Survived by his wife, Fern; children, Rex (Sondra), Sue (Steve) Marsing, and Steven (Candis); sister, Joann Good; 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.

Max worked for KCC for 32 years and the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints for 12 years. He served many positions in the church including twice as a Bishop and as member of the Stake Presidency. He and his sweetheart served two missions, and together they served countless individuals for decades. For most of his life he sacrificed much of his personal time for his family and fellowman.

He will truly be missed albeit temporarily.

He was preceded in death by his son, Scott B. Beck; brother, William R. Beck; and parents.

Funeral services will be held 12 p.m. Friday, January 4, 2019 at the Pleasant Green Chapel, 8739 W. 3000 S., where a viewing will be from 10:30-11:45 a.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
