Michael L. Carter, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend, born in Heidelberg, Germany, to Douglas H. Carter and Marianne G. Derenberger, Mike carried the warmth and vibrancy of his heritage into everything he did.

For 25 wonderful years, Mike shared his life with his soulmate, LuDene Berry Carter. Their bond was the foundation of a beautiful family and a testament to unconditional love. Mike was not only a devoted family man but a passionate adventurer. He found joy in the grandeur of the outdoors, whether hunting in serene wilderness, casting his line into tranquil waters, or camping under the starry skies of Skyline Drive. Around the campfire, his charm and humor were unforgettable, marked by his captivating John Wayne impersonation that brought smiles and laughter to those lucky enough to witness it.

Mike had an extraordinary ability to connect with people. Strangers quickly became friends, and friends felt like family in his presence. His genuine kindness and generosity left an indelible mark on everyone he met. His heart was vast enough to embrace all, making his departure an immeasurable loss.

He is survived by his cherished wife LuDene and their children: Derrick (Hannah) Carter, Hope (Sheldon) Mitchell, Tony Spires, Trient (Kylee) Spires, and Seth (Titi) Spires, as well as his treasured nine grandchildren, siblings Alvin (Audrey) Carter, Dan (Letha) Carter, Sabrina (Ron) Martinez, Doug (Kathryn) Carter and Steve Carter along with numerous nieces and nephews that loved him like a second dad.

He is welcomed to eternal peace by his parents, his beloved son Brandon, and his sister Barbara.Mike’s family takes comfort in knowing he is now reunited with loved ones who greeted him with open arms. His light shines through the love he gave, the memories he created, and the lives he touched.
