Milo Glen Wade

Milo Glen Wade, 91, passed away on April 9, 2025, in West Valley City, Utah. He was born on May 11, 1933, in Panguitch, Utah to Albert M. and Lydia Cassie Wade. Milo married Mavis Torgerson on April 24, 1953, in Garfield, Utah. 

Milo graduated from Cyprus High School. He continued his journey, where he met the love of his life, Mavis, at a New Year's Eve dance at Kennecott Copper. They married in 1953. Milo was drafted and served as an army corporal in the Korean War. He then became an overhead craneman at Kennecott, where he worked for 31 years before retiring. 

He loved vacationing in Moab, Idaho, Panguitch, and Koosherem. Milo's hobbies included checkers, Monopoly, cards, and horseshoes. He loved playing the harmonica for his kids and grandkids. He was a jokester and loved to scare everyone. Some of his favorite memories he would share included hunting, fishing, and many, many trips to Wendover. Going to Wendover with his family was one of his favorite activities. Milo was a #1 of the Utah Jazz and enjoyed watching BYU, Dallas Cowboys, and Chicago Bears football games. Milo enjoyed taking care of his yard and garden. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 

His family is his greatest accomplishment. Milo positively impacted everyone in his life and loved them dearly. His wife was his whole world. they were never apart. Words cannot express the love he had for her, she was his everything for 72 years (almost 73 years on April 24.)

He is survived by his wife, Mavis Torgerson Wade; his 5 children, Audrey (Alvin) Carter, Kathy Wharton, Juli Wade, Sheila (Mike) Knight, and Richard (Jodi) Wade; 21 grandkids, 53 great-grandkids, and 8 great-great-grandkids; plus many more cha, cha, chas.

Preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Lydia Cassie Wade; sister, Mary Broadhead; brothers, Davis Wade, Dwayne Wade, Eddie Wade, and George Arnold; sisters, Shirley Day, Verda Campbell, Fern Stearns, and Madge Arnold; nephew, Edward Wade; son, Glen Wade; granddaughter, Trisha Wharton; and grandson, Travis Wharton. 

Services for Milo will be held on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. Magna Main Street, Magna, Utah. A viewing will held from 11:00 am-1:00 pm, and a funeral will start at 1:00 pm. Interment will be at the Valley View Cemetery in West Valley City at 2:30 pm.
