Norrine McDonald

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Norrine Henline McDonald, who left us on October 8, 2024, at the age of 96. Norrine's life was a testament to kindness, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and community.

Born on December 18, 1927, in Magna, Utah, Norrine was the beloved daughter of William J. Henline and Lillie Iola Patrick. She grew up in a household that cherished the values of compassion and hard work. Norrine graduated from Cyrus High School and had a fulfilling career as a wife and mother.

Norrine was married to the love of her life, Merrill D. McDonald, with whom she shared 69 years of wedded bliss. Together, they raised 5 amazing children. Norrine's devotion to her family was unparalleled. She was a nurturing mother and a doting grandmother to many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Her legacy will continue for many more generations to come.

Her community knew Norrine as a woman of grace, wit, and generosity. She was actively involved with her Yuma, AZ family and friends at the River Front RV Park, Norrine and Merrill were snowbirds for 40 years, and her efforts touched countless lives.  She had a passion for Pokeno and Bingo and often spent all her free time being found in the halls of the clubhouse playing with friends.

She also had a passion for playing card games such as Gin Rummy, Play Nine, and Phase 10 with her children and grandchildren whenever they visited.  Norrine’s warmth and laughter were contagious, and she had the unique ability to make everyone feel special. Her legacy of service, kindness, love, and card game competitiveness will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her

Norrine is survived by her loving children, Merrill R. (Hedy), Susan (Danny) Holdaway, Connie (Jim) Burns, Gary (Becky), and Carolyn (Paul) Littlewood; her cherished grandchildren; and her sisters, Pauline Archibald, and Peachie (Fred) Austin.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Merrill D.; her parents, William and Lillie Henline; her sister Gerry Owen; her three brothers, Ray, Billy, and Harold Henline; granddaughter, Chaunte Littlewood; daughter-in-law, Angie McDonald; and great-grandson, Taiton King.
