Orval A Fotheringham
1934 - 2011
MAGNA-Orval A Fotherngham, age 77, passed away on September 16, 2011. Orval was born on March 30, 1934 in Mount Pleasant, Utah, the son of Otho Khulil and Helen Ash Fotheringham. He married Ila Jean Larsen on June 25, 1953 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, serving many years with the youth and as a scoutmaster, for which he received his Silver Beaver award. He was proud of his pioneer heritage. His family was his pride and joy. Many times he loaded the station wagon with the family, camping gear, and a red boat trailing behind. He spent many hours supporting his family in their activities.
He is survived by his wife, Ila; seven sons, Kim (Carrie), Gary (Paulette), Bart (Shaunalie), Chad (Christine), Cal (Sharon), Doug (Patti), and Robert Upshaw; one daughter, Kaye (Lee) Hammond; sister, Veloy (Earl) Jeppson; 28 grandchildren; and 22 great grandchildren.
Preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, September 19, 2011 at the Magna Central Stake Center, 8181 W. 3320 S., where friends and family may call both Sunday 6-8 p.m. and Monday 10-10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
