Rita Grant

Rita F. Grant, 79, passed peacefully through the veil on March 19, 2025, in Millcreek, Utah. Rita was born in 1945 in New York and grew up with parents and siblings who loved her very much.

After graduating from high school in New York, Rita married John D. Krauslis. Sadly, John was killed in Vietnam in 1968. Rita later married Roger E. Grant, with whom she built a loving family, the legacy of which lives on through Roger and Rita's sons, Matthew and Mark.

Rita had a career spanning multiple industries, including finance, legal, and journalism. While Rita had a great sense of fulfillment helping to provide for her family, her greatest joy was in serving others. Rita loved to give gifts, and loved to share kind words and kind deeds with her friends, family, neighbors, and even complete strangers. One of her favorite maxims was a play on a line from Disney's Bambi - "If you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all, but if you CAN say something nice, do it".

Rita was also an accomplished singer - a passion she instilled in both her sons. She loved sharing her talent, especially through singing in her church choir. She had many fond memories of singing with the choir of the Lamoille Community Presbyterian Church in Lamoille, Nevada, where she attended services regularly with her family for many years.

Rita found great joy in life's simple pleasures - a good meal, a good movie, a good conversation, or an evening spent playing card games with her grandchildren. While she will be missed terribly, she will be remembered fondly, and we trust in the Lord's assurance that we will be together again, in the sweet by and by.

Rita was preceded in death by her first husband, John D. Krauslis, and her second husband, Roger E. Grant. She is survived by her son Matthew Grant of Salt Lake City, Utah, (daughter-in-law, Andrya, and grandchildren - Olivia, Liam, Ivy, Jay, Ginnyeve, Rosemary, Maya, and Eowyn) and her son Mark Grant of Valhalla, New York (daughter-in-law Megan, and grandchildren Vivian, Roger, and Asher), as well as siblings, cousins, nieces, and nephews.

To honor Rita's request, a private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
