Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and great-great-grandfather went home to his loving Father in Heaven, August 8, 2016 while surrounded by his family. Bob, the oldest of four children, was born in Salt Lake City on April 8, 1934 to Robert and LaVon Dea. He grew up in Magna, and graduated from Cyprus High School in 1952. He was known as “Tiny” on the Cyprus football field, and as a senior he received outstanding player of the year. While attending Cyprus he met the love of his life, Ida Lee Cotton. They married, and together raised four beautiful children. Bob retired from Kennecott after 41 years of service.
Bob enjoyed football and baseball so much that he played and coached for many years. He loved the outdoors where he spent time hunting, fishing and camping with his family and friends. Bob was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He and Ida were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple, and together served a full-time mission in Fresno, California. Bob held many callings throughout his lifetime, the most recent of which was Patriarch.
Bob is preceded in death by his parents Robert and LaVon, and brother, Jay. He is survived by his wife, Ida, children; Debbie Rocha, Becky (Steve) Ovenden, Kevin Dea, Sandy (Clair) Fjeldsted, 13 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren. 3 great-great-grandchildren, brothers; Kay (Donna) Dea, Dennis (Kathy) Dea.
