Rosa P. Mestas, 81, passed away with her family surrounding her at Jordan Valley Hospital, Dec 29, 2018.  Rosa was born on April 21, 1937 to Wilhelm and Maria Palmer of Hofheim, Germany. She married Manuel Francisco Mestas of Dragerton Utah, May 19, 1958.  They were by each other's side for 63 years.

Survived by her husband, Manuel; children, Manuel (Kim), Inga (Walter) Dickerson, Ellen, Daniel (Ruth), Ernie (Becky); 17 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren.

Rosa worked as a seamstress for many years in Germany and at Osborne Apparel (Magna, Utah), she loved creating clothes for her family and the fine art of needlepoint, creating beautiful landscapes.

She and her sweetheart loved to spend time together, camping, going to Wendover and time with their family.  Rosa was a very resilient woman, living through world war II, moving to a foreign land with a foreign language, rising above the challenges that life gave her.

With very heavy hearts, our pillar of strength will be missed dearly by all.

Rosa was preceded in death by her Grandson Daniel, Sister Katie, and parents.

Funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Saturday, January 5, 2019 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W 2700 S, Magna, where viewings will be held both Friday 6-8 p.m. and Saturday 9-9:45 a.m. Interment: Salt Lake City Cemetery. Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
