RUTH BAER

1926 ~ 2020

Ruth peacefully passed away on April 2, 2020 surrounded by loved ones.
Born in Fruita, Colorado on January 8, 1926 to loving parents John and Della Crider. Ruth spoke of her childhood and family often.
Ruth moved to Magna, Utah at the age of 18 to work at Kennecott, where she met and married Jack Baer. She spent many happy years in the little white house that Jack built on 2100 S. where they raised their 5 children. She took great pride in her yard and worked tirelessly to keep it weed free. She could often been seen mowing her lawn and waving at cars passing by on the freeway.
Many laughs and smiles were had around quilting boards at Grandma's house. She loved sharing her passion for quilt  "Bobby" making with her family and she usually had a big pot of macaroni and tomatoes to feed us all. She made quilts for many people and said they were made with "love stitches".
Ruth was outgoing, adventurous and always up for fun. Some of the things that brought her the most happiness were, Easter Egg Hunts at her house, camping, traveling and animals, but most of all, she loved being with her family and friends.
Mom always enjoyed making people laugh with her crazy life stories and she was proud to tell of the time she went skydiving at the age of 80.
Her family would like to send a special thank you to some of Ruth's dearest friends, Jems Mendez, Gary Clark and Debbie Allfred took her under their wings. They would stop to check on her, bring her sweet tokens of love and was always there whenever she needed anything.
We would also like to thank the caring staff at Legacy House for their kindness and patience. They all said she was the spark that lite the place up.
Survived by Judy Nickle (Jerry), John Baer (Marie), Allen Baer (Sandy), Frank Baer (Pat) and her Caregiver, Best friend and Daughter Susan Smith (Jeff) .
Also by many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Proceeded in death by Jared Baer, Gina Hill and Natalie Baer
We love you Mom/Grandma. Thanks for all of the fun memories.
