Sherry Dawn (Betty) Williams was born September 28, 1945, to George Betty & Edith Eichelberger. Sherry, the youngest girl of 6 siblings, grew up in Pocatello, ID, where she learned a good work ethic by pulling potatoes in the dusty Idaho fields. When she wasn't working or helping her single mother with household chores, she enjoyed spending time with her siblings and indulging in her passion for music and dancing. Growing into a stubborn but strong young woman, she was only phased by an intense fear of snakes.
Sherry met and married Wayne David Williams, and they eventually settled down to raise a family in Magna, UT. They had five amazing children, Tami, Shance, Shane, Shawn, & Danice. A strong and compassionate woman, she remained close to her children, always their lifelong hero and protector. When finances were tight, Sherry would work odd jobs sewing, cleaning, or offering aid to those in nursing facilities to help make ends meet. She enjoyed a long trip to the DI and other thrift stores, keeping a tight budget but valuing the treasures she would often find.
Later in life, Sherry enjoyed a great bond with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was a source of wisdom and acceptance for them all. Sharing her love of shopping with them and would let them lie down in the back of her van while driving there. Sherry would offer her mumu's as dress-up options, one Pepsi from her fridge, and a large selection of movie options when they chose to spend the night at her house. She was always in her yard sharing her love of flowers and gardening with anyone who would ask, letting the grandkids enjoy the fresh tomato or offering to host a fish fry with fantastic food for the family.
Sherry is preceded in death by her husband, David Williams; son, Shance Williams; sisters, Juanita Fiester & Coralie Smith; and brothers, Gary Betty & Terry McClellan. She is survived by her children, Tami Sortillon, Shane Williams, Shawn Williams, and Danice Williams; her brother, Thomas Betty; and many beautiful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
