STEVEN LEON RASMUSSEN

1953 ~ 2013

Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, son and brother, Steven Leon Rasmussen, 59, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by his family and friends, after a courageous battle with Melanoma Cancer. Steve was born December 20th 1953 to Leon and Verdean Rasmussen. He married the love of his life, Joyce Lynn Overbey on March 22nd 1973. Together they had 3 children, Lora (Brad) Stewart, James (Jill) Rasmussen and Bradley (Angelina) Rasmussen. Driving truck was his livelihood, but spending time in the outdoors, riding four wheelers, hunting, fishing and family campouts was his passion. He never missed a 4th of July BBQ, he was the best "Grill Master" in town. He is survived by his wife, 3 children, 7 grand children, 1 great grandchild, and father; sister, Vicki (Kent) Money; and 2 brothers, Jay and Scott (Madeline). He is preceded in death by his mother. A Funeral Mass will be held Monday December 16th at 11 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 2840 S. 9000 W., Magna, where friends may visit with family Sunday, December 15th 5 pm - 6:30 p.m. with a Rosary Prayer service at 6:30 p.m., and Monday at 10-10:45 a.m. before Mass.
