1945 ~ 2021

Stirling Forist King Jr., 76, passed away on August 18, 2021 from heart problems. Born April 11, 1945 to Sterling and Lois King. Married the love of his life, Rena Simpson on November 11, 1962; she preceded him in death.

Stirling served in the US Navy aboard the U.S.S. Coral Sea. He was an electrician for Kennecott Copper for 30 years. He loved gardening, fishing with brothers, Morris and Randy, and spending time with his friends at the VFW.

He is survived by his brothers and sisters, JoAnn (Johnny) Smith, LoAnn (Larry) McElreath, Morris (Robin, deceased) King, Kevin (Sky) King, Randy (Lisa) King, George (Kathy) King, Mark (Raelynn) King, Danny (Amy) King, and Leelynn (Juan) Gutierrez. Sterling had a large family and loved them all.

Special thanks to Shannon for her love and care of Stirling, and to his best friends, Lois and Jimmy King for always being there for him, a friendship that lasted for over 50 years.

Stirling touched so many lives. Although our hearts are broken, it will bring us comfort knowing you will be with the love of your life, Rena again. Time slips by and life goes on, but you will forever be in our hearts. Until we meet again…Rest in peace.

A visitation will be held from 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Saturday, August 28, 2021 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. Magna Main St. Graveside services will be Saturday 12:30 p.m. at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 4th Ave. ‘N’ Street.
