Thomas Eugene Perfili left this earthly life on November 3, 2021 at the age of 77. Tom was born on June 4, 1944 in Salt Lake City, Utah to parents Philip Angelo and Julia Talley Perfili. Tom’s first 10 years were spent with his family living in Tooele, Utah. The next years of his life were spent in Magna, Utah where he graduated from Cyprus High School in 1963, secured employment with Kennecott Copper, married his high school sweetheart Colleen Cameron in 1965 and started his family. Tom was employed with Kennecott for 40 ½ years and served his fellow employees as Union President (Steelworkers Local 392) for two terms. Tom loved his wife, his four children and was a patriot through and through. He also loved each grandchild and great-grandchild as they were added through the years.
Tom could fix or build almost anything and he often did! He had a great love of sports and supported all three of his sons as they played baseball, basketball and football. He also coached his sons’ baseball teams and helped his own dad coach his younger brother Mike’s team. Tom also played football and basketball and ran track in high school. He was an avid Utah Utes fan and all of his children enjoyed watching sports at his knee (including his daughter!)
Tom was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in 1979. He and Colleen, along with their four children, were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple in June of 1980. He served as Elder’s Quorum counselor, scout leader and Ward Executive Secretary, a calling which he thoroughly enjoyed.
Tom is survived by his wife and four children: Carma Lee Rasmussen (Randy), John Paul (Stephanie), Thomas Elliot (Ashley) and David Cameron (Paige); grandchildren Jessica (Jordan), Matthew, Bryson, Bethany, Elizabeth (Matt), Logan (Alyssa), John-Paul, Julia, T.J. (Trina), Samuel, Zoey, Charlotte; great-grandchildren Hudson, Ella, Mia, Aspen, Nora, Mona, Olive, Zoey and a great-grandson coming in January; brother Mike Perfili (Judy) and sister-in-law Linda Perfili. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Perfili and infant granddaughter Amanda Rasmussen.
