Timothy Wade Daffern

1961-2011

Timothy Wade Daffern, 49, passed away at home after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer surrounded by his family on February 25, 2011.

He was born on March 7, 1961 in Eugene, Oregon to loving parents Earl Daffern and Georgia Newland. He grew up in Nampa, Idaho. He graduated from Nampa High School in 1980. He served an honorable LDS mission in Fukoka, Japan. He met his soul mate, Lori while attending Boise State University. They were married in the LDS Oakland Temple in Oakland, California on June 11 th , 1983. He served active duty in the U.S. Airforce for 7 years. He was stationed in Misawa, Japan and Luke AirForce Base. He graduated Summa Cum Laude with a bachelors of Science from Park College, majoring in Computer Science, in 1991. He excelled and exceedingly enjoyed his career as a Computer Systems Analyst for Workers Compensation Fund. Tim enjoyed the great outdoors, his favorite pastimes included: playing basketball, boating, fishing, watching BYU and Boise State Football, and playing with his grand babies. He loved spending time at his ranch in Northern Idaho.

In his relationships with his family and friends, Tim was very giving, compassionate, selfless, and kind. He was an amazing uncle, son, father, grandfather, and husband. He was a very hard worker and could do almost anything, including building houses for his family, fixing cars, and fixing computers.

He is survived and will be greatly missed by his mother, Georgia Daffern, six older siblings, Sharon Albert (Buck), Gary Daffern (Brenda), Linda Estes (Fred), Dan Daffern (Debbie), Christine Jones (Ken), Loretta Musgrave (Scott), four children, Jana Gardner (Lee), Tosha Tatafu (Mitch), Allyson Boyd (Logan), four grandchildren, Madelyn, Caden, Benjamin, and Lucas, and his adoring and loving wife, Lori Anne (Overton) Daffern.

Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 1, 2011 at the Stansbury Park Stake Center.  Interment: Lake Point Cemetery.  Online condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
