1951 ~ 2021

Gerald “Tom” Thee, Husband, Father, Grandfather, Friend, died in his sleep Monday, March 1, 2021, in Taylorsville, Utah at the age of 69. Tom was born on August 6, 1951 to Gerald and Margaret “Muggy” (Butler) Thee in Lexington, Missouri where he grew up with his little sister, Joyce.

After high school, Tom moved to Arizona where he married the love of his life, Katherine Baranowski, before settling down in Magna, Utah. He spent his years working for Rocky Mountain Power, fishing with his kids, imparting his love for the outdoors. His retirement was spent camping, fishing and playing with his grandchildren; when he wasn’t catching up on some much-needed naps.

Tom is survived by his wife Kathie; his four children, Jon, Becklyn, Amber, and Mark; and his 4 grandchildren, Sage, Hunter, Mattison, and Easton.

In the words of one of his oldest friends Rosie Giorza, “Tom will be best remembered for his smile, good nature, the gleam in his eye as he enjoyed a margarita, and his ability to fall asleep sitting up on my couch." By his children and grandchildren, he will best be remembered as a man who may not have had the answers, but who’s presence made you know that everything was going to be alright.

Tom wished to have his ashes placed at his favorite reservoir, Strawberry, where countless days were spent fishing with his family and friends. Every day will be a celebration of his life, as his lasting impact will live on in those that knew and loved him. Thanks, Dad.
