Valleen Stevens Jensen
1933 ~ 2021
Valleen Stevens Jensen, 87, returned to her Heavenly Home to be reunited with her three children and other loved ones on January 25, 2021. She passed away at her home in Brigham City, encircled by her loving family. She was born June 24, 1933, in Redmond, Utah. She was the youngest of seven children born to Wilford Stevens and Ruby Eliza Christensen. Valleen grew up in Redmond making special memories with family and friends. She loved school and graduated from North Sevier High School.
Valleen married Orval Farrell Jensen in the Manti Temple on June 1, 1951. They started their journey together in Redmond, later moving to Magna, where they raised their family. Valleen and Farrell were blessed with four beautiful children. In 1998 they moved to Farr West where they truly loved the people and community. In 2018 they moved to Brigham City to live by their daughter and grandchildren where it was a blessing to have their family close.
Valleen was well known for her ability to cope with and rise above adversity. Her unwavering faith kept her going, even when things were very difficult. She was a perfect example of charity never faileth, loving her religion deeply and serving every church calling with her whole heart. She loved to befriend and mentor new mothers, was an early advocate for the rights of children with special needs, and always expressed appreciation to others. She organized events and would add a touch of perfection to all her projects. She prepared for everything, right up to the end of her life. Valleen also loved to fish and travel, but her greatest joy was her family. She spent years attending every sporting event her grandchildren participated in. She loved to watch her great-grandchildren playing and having fun. Valleen loved giving presents for every occasion and even for no reason at all. Family Christmas parties were her favorite, finding much joy in watching the little kids' faces light up when they opened presents. She was a great supporter of all family and extended family events and helped to support a countless number of missionaries.
Valleen was a beautiful and faithful daughter of God who made a lasting impression on everyone she met. Her kind and generous ways helped her keep a cheerful attitude of service. She was blessed with family and friends who adored and loved her, especially her best friend of 50 years.
Valleen is survived by her husband of 69 years, Farrell, and her daughter Stephanie (Mark) Storey, Brigham City; her grandsons Cody (McKelle) Storey, West Weber; Karson (Arlene) Storey, Brigham City; Logan (Devyn) Storey, West Weber; Austin (Kathy) Storey, Farr West; 13 great-grandchildren, and sister, Dorothy Kate (Freeland) Barney, Magna.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her children Suzann, Julee, Blake; brothers Dan, Ted, David, and sisters Lorraine, Rhea, and many brothers- and sisters-in-law.
There is deep gratitude for the loving caregivers of Symbii Home Health and Hospice for their compassionate service on behalf of my dear, sweet mother.
Due to Covid-19 restrictions, a private service will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021. Burial will be at the Redmond City Cemetery. The family will hold a tribute celebration for Valleen in June when family and friends can share memories.
