VAY ANN BEAGLEY RICHARDS
On December 1st, 2020, our Heavenly Father called his Angel home. Our beloved, Vay Ann Beagley Richards, departed this earthly realm, to join her dear mother Vayomi and her sweet son, Paul.
Ann was born on March 6, 1950 in Salt Lake City Utah, the second of seven children of George and Vayomi Beagley. She grew up in Magna where she attended Cyprus High School from 1966-1968. Later, she attended cosmetology school and worked as a Para Educator in the Granite School District.
She has held a deep and resolute love for the gospel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints throughout her life. She has served in many church callings and has always lived to serve others. Her faith is unshakeable, and the cornerstone of how she lived her life. Truly an example to all who know her.
Mom married her best friend and eternal sweetheart, David Glen Richards, on February 15, 1968. They were sealed for time and all eternity on March 4, 1969 at the LDS Salt Lake City Temple. The storybook love and devotion that Ann and Dave share is inspirational to all who know them. Inseparable, they cherished each day that they spent together. Those of us who have had the opportunity to witness such true love are forever grateful for the lessons taught and the examples that they have shared.
Multi-talented, Ann excelled at everything she set out to do. Her skillful baking ability is renowned and her beautiful wedding cakes were always in high demand. Mom played the piano beautifully, she loved to sew, paint, crochet, and more than anything, craft! She never stopped creating new things and was fueled by an endless imagination.
Above all else, Ann was born to be a Mother. There is nothing that is more precious to her than her family. Raising eight children, she had to utilize all her skills and talents. She loved getting together as a family. No matter how large, loud and messy these gatherings could be, she used each one to remind us of her love for us. Her unconditional love and complete devotion to her children is unwavering, a blessing that each of them will carry throughout their lives.
Mom has always lived life to the fullest. Always up for an adventure or to try something new. She finds the beauty in the little things and always made the most of every day.
Ann is a friend to everyone she meets and has always gone out of her way to make others feel comfortable and cherished. She never knew a stranger because she could make friends anywhere. Her special ‘Gift of Gab’ was something we often teased her about, but anyone who was lucky enough to meet her was forever better for the experience. She was a “One of a Kind” spirit who left a little sparkle everywhere she went!
Mama missed her sweet son Paul so much that we find comfort in knowing that he was waiting to welcome her with loving arms. Paul, hold her tight for us until we see you both again.
Our hearts are broken, and we know that nothing will fill the void of an earthly life without you Mama. Until we meet again, we will hold tight to countless amazing memories, lessons that she taught us, kindness that she showed us, and strive to live our lives to be more like her.
Those we love don’t go away
They walk beside us every day
Unseen, unheard but always near
So loved, so missed, so very dear
