Vella Noreen Gurr Hutchings Griguhn quietly passed away at home on May 21, 2015. Born November 21, 1929 to Vera Berry Gurr Hutchings and Reuben Norton Gurr, who passed away in a mining accident before Vella was born, and was raised by Bert G. Hutchings, her dad. Vella grew up and attended schools in Lehi.  After meeting the love of her life, Lowell Pillip Griguhn they were married October 22, 1948. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple June 19, 1963. Vella was a great example of a homemaker. She always had something to offer visiting family members, even if they weren’t hungry. She loved to knit and later learned to love crocheting. She had many church callings including Relief Society presidency and Primary teacher. Her last and most treasured calling was that of Primary pianist, which she held until New Years Eve when she broke her leg. Vella truly loved playing for the Primary and the children always held a special place in her heart. She held that position for many years. Vella and Lowell raised three sons, Phil (Ester), Kerry (Karma), and Kris (Sherri). They had 9 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren. Vella is survived by her husband and sons; her brothers, Lynn Hutchings and B Kay Hutchings. Preceded in death by her parents, and sister, Carla Dean (who died shortly after birth). Vella is now enjoying a wonderful family reunion.

Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 27, 2015 at Lake Ridge 11 ^th Ward, 7825 W. Sharon Dr. (3340 So.). Viewings will be held Tuesday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., and Wednesday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
