VeNeta Jane Giles

MAGNA- VeNeta York Giles passed away peacefully at home while surrounded by her family Monday, September 25, 2023. She was born February 8, 1937 in Santaquin, Utah to Marvin and Racheal York. VeNeta later moved to Magna Utah where she met her sweetheart Sherm. They raised their family and celebrated 52 years together until his passing in 2006. VeNeta worked at Kmart for 29 years. Some of her best memories were traveling with her family and friends, the family Love In’s, and holiday family parties.  Her favorite past times were golf, bowling, playing cards, yard work, and attending Daughters of Pioneers. VeNeta always had a positive outlook on life. She always tried to be happy and make those around her feel unconditionally loved.

VeNeta is survived by her children, JoLynn Kruse, Kaye (Rennie) Gardner, Kerry (Janet) Giles, Kris (Mike) Holmes, Clint (Jennifer) Giles; 16 Grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Naoma Smith, Bonnie (Cloyd) George, MarRae (John) Davis. Preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Roy York, Jack York; sister, Shirlene Colledge; son-in-law, Pat Kruse; and nephew, Paul Smith.

Visitation will be held 5-7 p.m. Sunday October 1, 2023 and 11:00 – 11:45 Monday at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. Magna Main St. Funeral services will be held Monday 12:00 p.m. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park.
