Wanda Peel Beck

Our loving mother, grandmother and grandma-great, Wanda Hannah Peel Beck passed away peacefully Saturday August 19, 2017, at the home of her daughter in West Valley City.

Wanda was born June 21 ^st 1922 in Spanish Fork, UT., the first child of Frank and Jessie Peel.  She received her education in Magna, Utah where Wanda resided most of her life.

Wanda was an accomplished artist, whose talents have enriched the lives of those around her. Her talents included oil painting, ceramics, porcelain dolls, crocheting, embroidering,  knitting, quilting, and sewing. An avid historian, Wanda had compiled volumes of pictorial and written histories of her ancestors.  She is proud of her heritage and passes the legacy of hard work onto her family. She served on various committees to support and preserve the history of Magna, the Oquirrh Stake, Cyprus High School and Utah ’ s Pioneer Heritage.

Wanda married Lloyd L. Beck on September 18, 1940 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Over the years, Wanda worked diligently behind the scenes while Lloyd actively and generously gave service to Magna, Cyprus High School and the LDS Church.  Her unselfish support gave a greater meaning to the declaration, " behind every successful man is a great woman ".

Preceded in death by her loving husband, parents, brother, Dee Peel, and many in-laws including son-in-law, Nick, daughter-in-law, Patti, grandson-in-law, Rudy, and great grandson, Carter. She is survived by her daughters; D ’ Ann Luke, Nancy (Courtney) Smith, Bonnie Harris, sons; Wayne (Sara) Beck, Kent (Cindy) Beck, and  17 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren.  Wanda ’ s greatest joy in life was her family.  And over the years, she has created family traditions and bonds of love as she planned and organized family gatherings.

Funeral service will be held 12 noon Saturday, August 26, 2017, at Ridgeland Ward, 4251 S. 4800 W. Viewings will be held Friday 6- 8 at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 W. 2700 S., and Saturday 11-11:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Valley View Memorial Park. Online Condolences: www.peelfuneralhome.com
