WAYNE A. HALES

Salt Lake City – Wayne Arthur Hales, 83, died peacefully at home with his loving daughter, Connie, at his bedside.  He was born November 2, 1933, to Arthur B. and Cleo K. Hales.

Wayne graduated from Cyprus High School in 1951 where he was active in sports: baseball, football and basketball.  He served in the military during the Korean War.  He was a member of the Teamsters Union as well as the Operating Engineers Union.  In the late 60’s, Wayne moved his family to California where he supervised the crew working on the Bay Area Rapid Transit system.  In the mid-70’s, he relocated his family to Alaska where he was the Master Mechanic in charge of maintaining all the heavy equipment used in building the Alaska Pipeline.

He is survived by his daughters Connie Unrein ( Eric), Dawn Wright, Pamela Black, brother, Kurt Hales, and sister, ReNae Rezac.  Wayne has nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his son Ted J. Clark and grand-daughter Teddi Lynn Clark. Thank you Dad, You will be greatly missed but never forgotten, and always in our hearts. With Love, all of your family.
