Richard Gordon Underwood

1947 ~ 2019

Richard Gordon Underwood passed away on November 7th, 2019, at the age of 72.

Rick was born in Garfield, Utah on February 11th, 1947 to George and Evelyn Underwood. He lived in Garfield until age 8, then moved to Magna, Utah. Rick then graduated from Cyprus high school in 1965, where he developed many lifelong friendships.

Rick was a proud 50yr member of the IBEW, where he spent time with numerous companies, but most his career at Skyline Electric, which lasted for over 25yrs. Rick had an incredible work ethic that he instilled in his children, to which he was very proud of all their accomplishments.

After retiring on 2011, he and his wife Sandy were able to spend winters in Bullhead City, AZ, only returning home to spend the summer months.  In Bullhead City they have numerous great friends which he enjoyed spending time with.

During the summer months in his retirement, he looked forward to his standing Thursday fishing appointment with his lifelong buddies Jerry and Dennis.  He also very much enjoyed the time he spent hunting and fishing with his children and grandchildren.

Rick is survived by his wife, Sandy and their four children, Bart (Kathy) Underwood, Dan (Cindy) Underwood, Shelly (Ty) Holmes, and Brook Fowers; 14 grandchildren, 9 great children; sister-in-law, Judy Underwood; and nephews, Scott, Mark, and Greg.

Masonic services will be held at 2:00pm Saturday, December 7th, 2019, at the Webster Center, 8952 West Magna Main Street, Magna, Utah. An open house will immediately follow until 5:00 pm.
